Girls Trip! Fort Worth and Waco, TX
Last year, we made a girl's trip to visit our bestie who recently moved to Fort Worth, TX for her job.
I had never been to Fort Worth, TX before and she was not far from Waco, TX which is a place I wanted to visit at some point in my life. We decided to make a long weekend trip to visit some new spots with our girl.
Once we got off our plane, Kells picked us up from the airport and we drove to her apartment. Since we were hungry we went to get something to eat.
Late Lunch: Press Cafe - I had the cafe burger with house-made chips. 8/10 very tasty and nice outdoor atmosphere.
We walked around the shops at Clearfork to see where our sister-friend was living and what she was experiencing.
Sweet Treat: Joy macaroons- honey & lavender, salted caramel, and chocolate hazelnut, 10/10 delicious macaroons.
Dinner: Mesero - skinny margs & chicken quesadilla with flour tortilla, sautéed kale, mushroom, poblano pepper, and queso. 8/10, it was a delicious meal and I loved the different veggies in the quesadilla.
We saw a beautiful Christmas tree outside of the restaurant so of course, we had to get some photos. While we walking around the area some more our friend's mom that traveled with us spotted Cru Wine bar, so we had some fun times and drinks.
I think we were all most excited for this day. The day of our WACO, TX visit. We started at Magnolia Table for breakfast (10/10, seriously). If I remember correctly, we waited about an hour and a half to two hours for a table, but it was soooo worth it. The restaurant was so cute that I felt like I was in an episode of Fixer Upper with Joanna Gaines.
We got the butter flight with biscuits to share and oh my gosh it was like eating a biscuit straight from heaven. The butter flavors were incredible. For my meal, I got the farm breakfast which tasted super fresh.
We went to the Little Shop on Bosque, where they offer slightly damaged and last chance items at a discount. There was a mix of things.
We then drove to Magnolia where most of their shops and restaurants are. We started with the Magnolia Market. If I didn't give myself a budget for that trip I would have bought everything there. We took our pictures with the Magnolia Silos that you always see and walked around checking out the area. We went to Magnolia Home, Seed + Supply, and the other small businesses they had there. We then got a pick-me-up coffee at Magnolia Press and a yummy baked good from Silos Baking Co.
Dinner reservations were at Doc B's that night and I got the Chicken Wok Out Bowl with brown rice flavored with sesame teriyaki. I would give it a 6/10, it was good, but not enough flavor.
On our last day in Fort Worth, we went to Fixe Southern House for breakfast which honestly was a 9/10. They had the BEST ICED COFFEE. I still crave it to this day. The biscuit was so soft and combined with the egg, bacon, and cheese, it created a flavorful adventure for my tastebuds.
After we were stuffed happy, we walked to the farmers market with our iced coffees. Kelley then took us to the Fort Worth Stockyards which was such a lively environment. We walked around to check out the shops and different booths that were set up. For lunch, we ate shake shack (5/10) which is not a favorite of mine but tasted so good since I was starved.
Our evening consisted of walking around the Gaylord Texan Resort to see some Christmas lights.
Dinner: Charleston's (6/10) chain restaurant
This trip was such a great time with lots of love and laughter. Creating travel memories with your best friends is something I definitely recommend. You should visit Fort Worth and Waco at some point even for a long weekend trip.
